Another find from Aladdins Cave!

On the day I found the tall glass jar that I am using to display my cup cake cases I also found this bed. I had spotted it a few months ago but at the time couldn't justify buying it as it was just after Christmas. However, it was always in the back of my mind, wishing I had got it as the chance wouldn't come again etc., etc. So, on the day I called in to buy the glass jar I happened to spot it again, nearly hidden under other items for sale. It was lucky I had my hubby with me and he was in the mood to haggle. He got a few quid knocked off the original price. It took a lot cleaning and polishing with brasso, a new mattress was bought and slats to hold it in place. I love it even though I have to be careful not to fall out as it is quite high.

P.S. I didn't get the ironing done, had a trip down memory lane in the photo box at home! Best get into the bed now, work tomorrow!

Today the weather was promising, bright an sunny. However, within the last hour it has become very cold and windy. The blossom is getting blown off the trees. Looks like the ironing will get done this afternoon after all!

At last the rain has stopped here in Co. Durham. The garden is waterlogged but its nice to get a little sunshine and fresh air. Enjoy it while it lasts!

This little vixen has been visiting for a number of years now. A neighbour of ours started leaving tit bits for her during a harsh winter and it has continued ever since. She comes each night at the same time and sits in the middle of the field behind our house and waits for something to be put out for her, then off she goes. We don't know where she has her cubs and I have never seen her bring her young with her. So I presume she must travel quite a distance each night. I only hope she is still hunting naturally and not relying on these tit bits to survive.

I have been looking for a glass spaghetti jar for sometime now to store & display my cup-cake cases in. However, everyone I saw was too small or made from plastic. By chance I visited "Aladdin's Cave" and found the perfect thing. I think originally it must have been a laboratory container and someone added a sweet jar lid. I quickly agreed a price, rushed home and gave it a good clean. It looks very impressive and blends in with my other glass items.
